What Goodtern is
Goodtern is a flight comparison and ranking tool. We score flights against your stated preferences and explain the ranking. We are not an airline, travel agent or booking platform — bookings happen on third-party sites under their terms.
Scores and information are guidance, not guarantees
Tern Scores, prices, durations, carbon estimates and AI-assistant replies are generated from available data and your own settings. Prices and schedules change quickly in travel; always verify the final price, route, baggage rules and times on the booking site before paying. Carbon figures are estimates. We accept no liability for booking decisions made on the basis of our rankings.
The AI assistant
The assistant is powered by a large language model and can make mistakes. It only re-ranks the flights shown — it cannot book, change or cancel travel.
Booking & our service fee
When you book through Goodtern we act as your booking agent: we arrange the ticket with the airline via our provider (Duffel) and charge you the airline fare plus a clearly-shown Goodtern service fee. The fare is confirmed live at the moment of payment, and you approve the total before you pay. The airline's own conditions of carriage, fare rules, baggage policies and change/cancellation terms apply to your ticket. Refunds and changes are governed by those airline rules; our service fee is non-refundable once a booking is placed.
Pay monthly (installments)
Where "pay monthly" is offered, the installment plan is provided by a third-party lender (such as Klarna, Clearpay or Affirm), not by Goodtern. Goodtern is paid the fare in full upfront and is not the lender or a credit provider. Spreading the cost is subject to the lender's eligibility checks and their own terms, interest and late-payment policies, which they show you before you commit. Missing payments to the lender may affect your ability to borrow. 18+, subject to status.

Acceptable use
Don't scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or abuse the service. We rate-limit and may block traffic that threatens availability for others.
Availability and changes
The service is provided "as is", without warranty. We may change or discontinue features at any time, and may update these terms — continued use after an update means acceptance.
